All our Red Cross First Aid & CPR/AED programs are WSIB-approved and comply with the standards established by the Federal Occupational Health and Safety Act. The Canadian Red Cross issues the certification, which is valid for three years from the date of issue. We offer courses in Standard and Emergency First Aid, CPR, and AED training (HCP) for Healthcare Providers.
First aid training emphasizes the practical application of every important technique taught. During the training, you will learn not only how to perform each technique correctly but also why it is essential and what steps to take in each situation. The course will cover scenarios involving adults and children so you can apply the methods correctly to the person you treat. The training will use a variety of example scenes to cover minor and major situations that could occur.
Injuries and accidents can happen at any time. Whether a person experiences sudden cardiac arrest, a cut, choking, or other injuries, we have training solutions to give you the skills and knowledge to offer aid where needed.
One of the important things you will learn during first aid training is that you must look after yourself and ensure your own safety as a priority. It’s not being selfish – it’s being practical. Keeping yourself safe means you are in a position to help others rather than needing help yourself. You will also learn about the importance of healthy living and how lifestyle habits and choices can increase or decrease your risks of developing problems such as coronary heart disease.
Every workplace, whether it's an industrial workshop or a medium-sized office, has the potential to experience a medical emergency. It is essential to create a safe working environment that benefits both the organization and its employees.
Even if you have taken safety precautions, medical emergencies can still happen in any workplace. In many cases, the sooner the victim of a medical emergency receives help, the better their chances are of recovery. First aid training helps to make employees more aware of the types of accidents that could occur in the workplace.
